Jerry is one of a very few candidates in the US 2024 races who is a true unifier and deliberately shuns contentious rhetoric and behavior. He brings democrats, republicans and independents together to focus on challenges that are important to us all: safety, prosperity and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, culture or community.

 
He says that like him, we should all be thankful to be born and live in our nation to experience our freedom, optimism and opportunity, and the sensation that anyone with a vision, dedication and determination can reach their dreams and aspirations.  He said these very words to his 11-year-old daughter, Valeria, just after her mother died of cancer many years ago at an early age. And Valeria who lived in Colombia and didn’t speak English, achieved her own dreams and aspirations, serving with the FBI as the Bureau’s highest-performing Cyber Investigative Analyst, then graduating with a Master’s Degree and receiving the Outstanding Student Achievement Award. Now she’s on the cusp of achieving her Medica Degree and formed a non-profit specifically to help the vulnerable here in Northern Virginia and Washington DC, primarily Latin and African American women at risk of cancer. 

Today, Jerry mentors students and adults from all walks of life to reach their own dreams with practical words that serve to inspire and not create fear or doubt or to divide. His proteges have gone on to graduate when graduation was not possible, build multi-million-dollar businesses when money was scarce, leave the streets where there were no helping hands, and overcome disease to live long healthy lives when hope was lost. Jerry’s lifelong friend and former Green Beret A-Team colleague Greg Coombs rolls his eyes and simply says:  That’s just Jerry.
