Bless the Victims of September 11

A special message from Jerry Torres.

My daughter Valeria and I offer our heartfelt prayers for those who gave their lives on September 11, 2001, when terrorists attacked New York City’s Twin Towers and our Pentagon in Arlington.  We will Never Forget the sacrifice of the courageous Americans who stormed the cockpit of Flight 93.

I am thankful to all servicemen and women in the US Armed Forces - Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force – who mobilized to Afghanistan to militarily crush Al Qaeda and the Taliban in just 27 days.

I am thankful to the first responders – especially my brother firefighters of the NYFD – who risked and gave their lives to save others… and who themselves have suffered from decades of after-effects.

And I deeply mourn the sacrifices of the gallant people of Afghanistan who fought against the tyranny of the Taliban.  Especially the great hero Ahmad Shah Massoud, who fell to cowardly Al Qaida assassins.

I pray that God will restore freedom to the people and nation of Afghanistan, where all Afghans enjoy the God-given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

And I am optimistic that our nation – with so many citizens from every nation, color, and creed – will transcend the recent bitter years of division to once more become truly United States.

Very Respectfully,

Jerry Torres
